Moreton Island — Australia - A large sandy island, 36 km. length and area of 17,500 hectares, 35 km. from Brisbane. The island forms the eastern boundary of Moreton Bay Marine Park to the south-east Queensland. 98% of the island covers the National Park Moreton Islands National Park, which protects its unique vegetation, wildlife, freshwater lakes and springs and its magnificent coastal dunes.

The water in the bay of the island abound with a variety of marine animals, such as humpback whales, giant turtles and dolphins, which are a favorite subject of surveillance by the tourists.

On Moreton Island are three of the town: Bulwer, employee base for leisure travelers who arrive on the island and in need of food. Exactly what kind of sunken ships I could not figure out. Only 15 ships sunk - the latter were flooded in 1982 - thirty years ago. Return of a Legend Titanic 2

Everyone is calling it the "return of a legend." Last year, Australian billionaire Clive Palmer revealed plans for Titanic II, a modern-day functioning replica of the original luxury liner. According to the design plan, "While every bit as luxurious as her namesake, Titanic II will have every modern amenity along with 21st century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems."

Passengers can purchase tickets and experience a journey across the ocean in a real life flash to the past, including class divisions and even costumes from the time period. Just like the original, the accommodations are designed to match the finest restaurants and hotels on land.

The plush furniture, carved oak designs, wrought iron and glass dome, and grand central staircase will mimic the grandeur of the original ship, and Palmer says, "This magnificent vessel is to be constructed in memory of the heroic people who served on the ship, the passengers who sadly shared their fate, and all those that survived the tragedy." The vessel will take its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York in 2016 and something important to note, the new design will be extremely prepared for any emergency, equipped with 18 modern lifeboats that can hold beyond the ship’s capacity of 2,435 passengers and 900 crew.

Hybrid Yacht - Newyork Hornblower, This yacht can run on Hydrogen,solar,wind and diesel power, beside that this vehicle was also known as a hybrid ferry. it seems that Hybrid vehicles and eco friendly vehicles are gradually going from uncommon to common on our roads. However, world’s fist hydrogen powered yacht is to take to the water off New York anytime next year. Launched in 2008, the San Francisco Hornblower Hybrid was a new paradigm in Eco travel. The hybrid ferry was launched to run on a combination of solar, wind and diesel power; however, the new 1400hp New York Hornblower adds another source to the mix of energy source to compliment the trio, a proton exchange membrane fuel cell that turns hydrogen into electricity.


Vessel will be powered by solar panels and wind turbines and the diesel engine will step in wherever there will be a need for extra power. Scheduled to be completed by April next year, 600-passenger New York Hornblower Hybrid will be made of recycled glass countertops, LEED-certified carpet and aluminum wall coverings. The eco friendly ferry will have minimum carbon emission as it sips, rather than guzzle, diesel.

The yacht features an outdoor sundeck and two interior decks, including one with glass walls. Whereas the LED video screens and lighting will reduce the energy consumption, the long life, low volatile organic content paints will cover the vessel’s exterior. And, all these features will together help minimize the impact on environment with the help of a technology which is scalable to hybrid ferries, hybrid yachts and even hybrid tug boats. World’s Largest Shipyard Grave at Nouadhibou

The city of Nouadhibou is the second largest city in Mauritania and serves as the country's commercial center. The port of Nouadhibou is the final resting place of over 300 ships which were abandoned by their owners. These ships rusting in the shallow waters has given the port of Nouadhibou the notorious name of being the world’s largest ship graveyard. Unlike the en masse arrival of ships at Mallows Bay, here the number of craft has built up over time, as corrupt officials accepted bribes from boat owners to allow them to dump their vessels in the area.


The phenomenon started in the 80's after the nationalization of the Mauritanian fishing industry, numerous uneconomical ships were simply abandoned there. Discarding a ship is quite expensive for a company, so during the decades, lots of unwanted ships ended up in the Harbour of Nouadibou.
A few years ago, the situation was so out of control, that even Mauritanians started to worry. Nowadays there’s a project from the European Union to refloat all these junk and take them away, or destroy the remaining wrecks.
